Event Description: Keep Albuquerque Beautiful celebrates America Recycles Day by having a Super Can Kid Contest. All K-5 Schools/Classrooms compete against each other to see who can collect the most aluminum cans within a 2-week period. First, Second and Third place winners receive prizes. First place receives a traveling trophy. Funds received from the aluminum cans are donated to a local charity. The goal for KAB is to have all elementary schools and their classrooms participate.

Event Description: We will have a free composting workshop presented by a representative of the NM Environment Department Solid Waste Bureau to teach people about backyard composting. The Visitor Center will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with informational booths from many local agencies, including Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains National Parks, the City of Carlsbad, Carlsbad Soil and Water District, Rainbow Recycling, and individuals and businesses involved with recycling efforts in southern New Mexico.

Event Description: The event starts on Friday night and ends on Sunday evening. Vendors will be onsite selling their recycled items (all items must be made out of 70% recycled materials). We have a juried art show that is on display all weekend, artists enter their art and keep it on display and for sale for the weekend. Schools are encouraged to enter the recycled art show and displayed for sale the entire weekend. Friday night features a Recycled Fashion Show. Informational booths by the Santa Fe Solid Waste Management Agency, City of Santa Fe and Santa Fe County will be available to visitors. They display and have information about their recycling programs.
