Event Description: Keep Peach County Clean & Beautiful is going back to its beginnings. Twenty years ago “Clean Community” had a recycle day one Saturday every month in the parking lot of local grocery stores. The Director and volunteers would help volunteer recyclers to place their recyclables in the “Clean Community” box truck. This event is being recreated in honor of America Recycles Day 2009 with emphasis on “first time” recyclers. The box truck will be available in Fort Valley, GA at the Harvey’s Supermarket and in Byron, GA at the Freshway Market Grocery Store on Saturday, Nov. 14. Refreshments donated by the grocery stores will be served, pencils, etc. will be distributed to the children and literature about recycling and ARD will be distributed.

Event Description: On Saturday, November 14, 2009 Dawson County will celebrate America Recycles Day by waiving tipping fees for bagged household trash at the Transfer Station and Recycling Center. All Citizens bringing their recyclables to the stations on that day will have the 50 cents per bag waived for all bagged household trash only. This does not apply to truckloads or appliances.
